Terms of Service

1. General Provisions

These Terms of Service (hereinafter: Terms) govern the use of the MENÜM (menum.hu) web application (hereinafter: Service).

The Service is operated by P4IT Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság (P4IT Kft.) (hereinafter: Provider), registered office: 9022 Győr, Batthyány tér 10, 1st floor, apt. 4, Hungary, company registration number: 08-09-029776, tax number: 26262574-2-08.

By using the Service, the user (hereinafter: User) accepts the provisions of these Terms. If the User does not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

MENÜM is a menu aggregator web application that collects and displays daily restaurant menus on a single interface. The Service provides the following main features:

  • Daily menu browsing: View, filter, and search daily restaurant offerings.
  • Restaurant map: Display restaurants on an interactive map.
  • Eating log: Personal food diary (registration required).
  • Favourites: Mark restaurants as favourites (registration required).
  • Restaurant suggestion: Suggest new restaurants to be added (registration required).

The Service is available free of charge. The Provider reserves the right to introduce paid features in the future, with prior notice to Users.

3. Registration and Account Management

Certain features of the Service (eating log, favourites, restaurant suggestions) require registration. Registration is done by providing an email address; no password is required.

Login is performed with a login code: the User provides their email address, and the system sends a six-digit code, valid for 10 minutes, to that address.

The User is required to provide a real email address that belongs to them. The Provider is not responsible for consequences arising from providing an incorrect email address.

The User may request account deletion at any time by contacting [email protected]. Deletion results in the removal of all personal data.

4. Use of the Service

The Service is available to Users exclusively for personal, non-commercial use. Systematic downloading, copying, reuse of the Service's content, or automated querying (scraping) of the Service is expressly prohibited.

When using the Service, the User is required to:

  • comply with applicable laws and regulations,
  • respect the rights of other users,
  • refrain from disrupting the operation of the Service,
  • refrain from submitting false, misleading, or illegal content.

5. Data Accuracy and Limitation of Liability

5.1 Menu Data

Restaurant menu data displayed in the Service is collected by an automated system and processed by artificial intelligence (AI). The Provider makes every reasonable effort to ensure data accuracy; however, the Provider does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the displayed data (dish names, prices, categories).

Restaurant menus and prices are subject to change. Prices displayed in the Service are for informational purposes only. The User must always verify the current offerings and prices at the respective restaurant.

5.2 Allergen and Tag Information

Allergen information (gluten, milk, eggs) and food tags (vegetarian, vegan, chicken, pork, etc.) displayed in the Service are AI-based estimates derived from dish names and descriptions. This data is for informational purposes only and does not replace direct information from the restaurant.

The Provider expressly disclaims liability for any health-related or other damages resulting from inaccurate allergen information. In case of food allergies or intolerances, the User must consult the restaurant directly.

5.3 General Limitation of Liability

The Provider assumes no liability for:

  • continuous, error-free operation or availability of the Service,
  • the content of data originating from third-party websites,
  • User decisions made based on information displayed in the Service,
  • loss of eating log data in the event of force majeure,
  • indirect damages arising from the use of the Service.

The Provider's liability for damages is limited to the narrowest extent permitted by law.

6. User Obligations

The User agrees to:

  • use the Service for its intended purpose,
  • not attempt to circumvent the Service's security systems,
  • not overload the Service's systems with automated queries,
  • use the restaurant suggestion feature in good faith, submitting only real restaurants,
  • use the eating log feature solely for personal purposes with their own data.

In case of violation of the above rules, the Provider is entitled to restrict or delete the User's account without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service's interface, branding, logo, and source code are the intellectual property of the Provider and are protected by copyright. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

Menu content published by restaurants is the intellectual property of the respective restaurants. The Provider displays such content solely for informational purposes.

The User may not claim copyright against the Provider for the content of restaurant suggestions submitted by the User.

8. Modification and Termination of the Service

The Provider reserves the right to modify, expand, or discontinue any feature of the Service, with prior notice.

In case of complete termination of the Service, the Provider will notify registered Users via email at least 30 days in advance and ensure the possibility to export or delete personal data.

The Provider may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance purposes and will provide advance notice where possible.

9. Complaints

Complaints regarding the Service may be submitted to [email protected]. The Provider will investigate and respond to complaints within 30 days of receipt.

If the User is not satisfied with the response, they may contact:

  • Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) — for data protection complaints
  • Győr-Moson-Sopron County Government Office, Department of Consumer Protection — for consumer protection complaints
  • Court — the User is entitled to seek judicial remedy under applicable law

10. Final Provisions

These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. For matters not regulated in these Terms, the provisions of the Hungarian Civil Code (Act V of 2013), the E-Commerce Act (Act CVIII of 2001), the Info Act (Act CXII of 2011), and the GDPR shall apply.

The Provider reserves the right to unilaterally amend these Terms. The Provider will inform Users of amendments through the Service's interface and, where necessary, via email. Amendments take effect upon publication. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

If any provision of these Terms proves to be invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.

These Terms take effect on March 31, 2026.
